Our admission process begins with a telephone call from the individual in need of help. During this call, we will ask you some general questions regarding your alcohol and/or drug use, what prompted your call to us and a little bit about your current personal situation. We will also determine with your input, your need, if any, for detoxification. There are no right or wrong answers – we are simply gathering information!
The next step is an in-person interview. We will schedule an appointment, usually twenty to thirty minutes in length, during which we’ll gather additional information about your alcohol and/or drug use. We’ll explain what our program is, how it works and you will have an opportunity to ask questions. You will be asked to call back later in the day, at which time THE LANTERN staff will have reviewed your interview questionnaire and made a determination regarding your admission.
Often times, it will be necessary to place your name on a waiting list. If this is the case, you will be asked to check in with us every day until a bed for you becomes available. It’s very difficult to project the length of waiting time.
